Join us for our Fall break art camp taught by artist Zerric Clinton! Students will be taught about perspective drawing, pop art and portrait drawing. This class is designed for Middle and High school aged students.

Calling all sneakerheadz! What are your favorite sneakers? Chucks, Jordans, Skechers, etc. Whatever your flavor is bring your creativity to the workshop and a list of who inspires you to wear them. Join us for an immersive floral design workshop where we explore a modern approach to Ikebana –the centuries-old Japanese art of flower arranging. This hands-on class is perfect for anyone eager to learn a new, creative way to work with flowers while embracing the beauty of nature.
Workshop participants will follow along to create their very own Starry Night painting using an oil pastel resist technique. Using oil pastels, participants will follow along with the teacher creating lines mimicking the paint strokes of Van Gogh. Next, they will use the paint to fill in the blank space.
Optional: When dry, participants can glue gold sequins to the areas where the stars are to give an extra flair.

Reflection forward is a juried art show hosted by the Gallery at Hood Street in honor of the City of McDonough’s Bicentennial. We are looking for artwork submissions that encompass the meaning and expression of what “Reflection Forward” means to the individual artist or what it means to our wonderful City. Let your imagination run free! The Gallery at Hood Street will determine the works chosen to be on display during the show. A panel of jurors will select the first, second and third place winners to be announced at the opening reception on August 24, 2023.
There is a $35.00 Entry Fee which covers the submission of up to three pieces (pieces are not guaranteed to be chosen). Upon signing up, you will need to complete your entry forms and email them to info@galleryathoodstreet.com. See forms for important deadline dates, rules and guidelines.

Kids of all ages will learn hand building techniques in order to create a colorful, original, air dry clay animal based on their own imagination! Through this creative process, kids will learn how to come up with an original idea for their colorful creation and see it come to life. They’ll also have fun learning how to use the three marker challenge for art projects which is a hit among kids these days. This is a great class for kids needing a simple and fun summer activity.
